2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups fine bread crumbs
1 clove of garlic, pressed
1/2 cup minced sweet onion
1/4 cup minced green bell pepper
1 tsp salt
1 tsp ground pepper, or to taste
1 tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 envelope dry Lipton's Onion Soup mix
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste, divided use
4 strips bacon, cut in half (optional)
